TechReview: Portable Imaging

To stay current with today's medical needs, the PORTABLE HAND-HELD ULTRASOUND DEVICE - aka the "modern stethoscope" joined the market. Powered by calibrated sound frequencies, this non-invasive scanning solution safely diagnoses the physiological condition of most vital organs and tumors in real time. The pocket-sized smart-phone integrated advancement clearly competes in resolution and performance with the over-sized hospital counterparts at a fraction of the cost!

The professional team at Bard Diagnostic Imaging (NYC) is one of the first radiology centers to offer remote access to advanced diagnostic imaging resources for all patients from a wide list of locations in the US. Thanks to our electronic file-sharing technology, your medical office can reap the many benefits of our cost-effective partnership to harness our expert readers’ in-depth imaging interpretation of your ultrasound scans.

Bard Diagnostic Imaging founded this concept in 1989, when a patient in Queensland (Australia) who frequently traveled to NYC on business would see Dr. Bard regularly to monitor his prostate. Dr. Bard would work with the patient's physician in his home town through a secure communications link and private file-sharing portal. These tools are now refined as private VIDEO TELECONFERENCING, TELEMEDICINE, DROPBOX.

Scan yourself from home (or in your location of choice)! Thanks to the advent of portable (and more affordable) traning-friendly ultrasound devices, THE SALSCAN PROGRAM formalized the concept of "Personal Scanning"- allowing the patient direct access to a portable ultrasound and be guided via online video w/ Dr. Bard on the other side, viewing your scans in real-time.

Thanks to the advancements of our web-based communication tools, overseas collaboration via electronic FILE-SHARING has been streamlined to empower and facilitate the world of patient care. Due to the CoronaVirus pandemic, many patients are not able to fly or travel to NYC to get scanned in Dr. Bard's main facility. For those situations, we have an option to partner with an imaging facility near the patient who carries similar technologies and trained imaging technicians to conduct the Point-of-Care scanning process. Meanwhile, Dr. Bard is the lead reviewer (remote OVERREADER) whereby he has the final analysis on all the scans. This process maintains access to Dr. Bard's care and diagnostic capacity without visiting his office physicially. In this process, Dr. Bard directs the scanning partner about using his specific scanning process (ie. frequency settings, choice of probe(s), the type of devices etc.) ensuring that Dr. Bard gets the images he needs to assess you correctly- from any location.

Virtualization is a perfect marriage between patient care and digital medicine, where DIGITAL ULTRASOUND responds to the future of emergency diagnostics and its ability to respond quickly, safely (radiation free) and is completely non-invasive. For the patient (plan 1) portable models have been designed easy to learn with a remote trainer. This is the perfect formula for satisfying the many critical care situations where the reality of distance can be addressed with technology.

Regardless of geographic location, TeleMed Partners can make patient collaboration and co-treating happen. There are a number of key ways that we can build a virtual bridge for TeleMed Partnering:

TELE-CONSULT: You may already have most of the technology to establish Tele-Consults with your patients. Through the use of various Video conferencing solutions, our I.T. partners can help you set up a fully interactive in-office conference studio. Depending on your technology, tele-consult can be a robust solution to practically replace much of what your patients go through on an in-house visit. Tele-Consult can include: software for complete interactive PATIENT FORMS, private Audio or Video-chat solutions, file sharing access and more.

VIRTUAL OFFICE VISITS: Covert the many 10-minute patient visits that often takes up more time than expected. Aside from the consultation and writing prescriptions, a wide range of purposes to an office visit can now be replaced digitally- such as post surgical care meetings, chronic disease management and support for senior patient care.

• PRIVATE FILE SHARING: Through the use of online private portals or proprietary file sharing software, we can transfer patient files to each other. As all files are not in digital form (or can easily be converted), file transfer and sharing between established fellow providers can be made possible. Digital file sharing is highly instrumental to speeding up the process of patient care and billing.

TELE-RADIOLOGY: Also known as TeleScan, we can help our partners acquire and set up an affordable/portable imaging capability for your patients and send imaging files to our diagnostic center for a full and comprehensive reading by our certified radiologists. We are ready to receive and access all file types including MRI, X-RAYS, ULTRASOUND and submit a detailed report on the patient.

Our growing community of TELEMED PARTNERS are medical practitioners, pain healers, specialists and health centers who are supporters of the positive use of current communication and imaging technologies to widen their ability to help their patients. Creating a united alliance of like-minded caregivers have helped assemble the information that we now have to help one another with their patients and ours. Together, we aspire to offer more ways for patients to get access to the help they need while employing efficient and safer alternatives to receiving professional health care.

From Local to Global:

The subdermal ultrasonic technology has become a powerful new standard in diagnosing and treating patients. The movement to "go digital' also brings significant advantages between clinicians in different locations by allowing them to share patient scans and test images in real time. This benefit is also greatly used in clinical trials from multiple locations. Working with a team is no longer limited to localized personnel; today's medical project allows complete working access to the most credentialed experts from any part of the globe. Dr. Bard has proven this work paradigm throughout his career -having partnered with countless clinical teams and research groups in European medical centers who sought his specific experience and diagnostic talents. Thanks to the use of the latest CLOUD-BASED imaging programs, trial projects can easily acquire, host, transfer and securely deliver any and all 3D/4D subdermal imaging of a patient (or test case) via REMOTE ACCESS. This innovation significantly adds a new level of efficiency and performance to any research project while greatly reducing trial costs and delays.
